Photo release
Effective October 3, 2026
Everyone who shares a photo in my gallery agrees to this release. In short:
- I took this photo, or I have the owner’s permission to share it.
- You keep your copyright. You give geneseeid.us permission to show the photo on this site and on its social media, with your name as credit.
- Anyone who can be clearly identified in the photo agreed to be shown, and a parent or guardian agreed for anyone under 18.
- You can ask for the photo to be taken down at any time.

Your ownership
You keep all copyright and other rights you have in the photos you submit. Submitting a photo does not transfer ownership to anyone.
Permission you give me
By submitting a photo, you grant geneseeid.us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to display, reproduce, resize, crop and format the photo on geneseeid.us and on social media accounts and printed or digital materials that promote geneseeid.us or the Genesee community.
I will credit the photo to the name you give me wherever it is practical to do so. I will not sell your photo or license it to anyone else.
This permission lasts until you ask me to remove the photo. After you ask, I will take it off the site within a reasonable time, usually a few days. I cannot recall copies already shared, printed or saved by others.
What you promise
You took the photo yourself, or you have permission from the person who owns it to submit it under these terms. For historic photos, you own the print or have permission from the family or collection that does.
Every person who can be clearly identified in the photo agreed to appear on a public website. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian agreed.
The photo does not show anyone in a private setting without their knowledge, and it does not include private information such as home addresses, license plates that identify someone, or anything that could put a person at risk.
The photo follows my Code of Conduct.
My choices
I review every submission. I may decline, remove or crop any photo at any time for any reason, and I do not have to publish every photo I receive.
I remove location and camera details (EXIF data) from photos before publishing them.
No payment
Photos are contributed as a gift to the community. You will not be paid, and I do not charge you anything to submit.
Removal requests
To have a photo removed, or to correct a credit, use the contact form and choose “Photo removal or credit.” If you are pictured in a photo someone else submitted and want it removed, I will remove it.
