Welcome to geneseeid.us, a community website about Genesee, Idaho, run by a Genesee neighbor (“I” or “me”). By using this site or submitting anything to it, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

1. About this site

geneseeid.us is an independent community project. It is not run by, and does not speak for, the City of Genesee, Latah County, the Genesee School District, or any other government body or organization. For official information, contact those offices directly.

2. Who can submit content

Anyone can browse the site. To submit events, listings, photos or messages, you must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, please have a parent or guardian’s permission first.

3. Content you submit

• You are responsible for what you submit. It must be accurate to the best of your knowledge, and it must follow my code of conduct.
• You keep ownership of what you submit. You give me a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to publish, display, format and share it on geneseeid.us and its social media accounts, to promote the site and the Genesee community, until it’s removed.
• Photos are also covered by my photo release.
• I review submissions before they appear. I may edit for length, clarity or formatting, and I may decline or remove any submission at any time without explanation.

4. Events and business listings

Events and listings come from the community. I don’t verify every detail, and a listing is not an endorsement. Confirm dates, times, prices and hours with the organizer or business before you go. I’m not responsible for events that change or are canceled, or for goods and services provided by businesses listed here.

5. Local food and farm stands

Sellers list their own stands and keep their own availability up to date. Sellers are solely responsible for what they sell, including following Idaho law on food safety, labeling and any required notices to customers. I don’t inspect, verify or endorse any seller or product, and I aren’t a party to any sale. Each stand gets a private manage link; anyone who has it can change the listing, so keep it private. I may pause or remove any stand at any time.

6. Marketplace

The marketplace isn’t open yet. When it opens, it will have its own rules. I will not be a party to sales between users, and buyers and sellers will be responsible for their own transactions.

7. My content

The site’s design and original text, such as the facts and history pages, belong to me. You’re welcome to quote or share them for non-commercial purposes with credit and a link back. Photos belong to their photographers. Please ask them before reusing a photo.

8. Copyright concerns

If you believe something on this site uses your work without permission, contact me. Tell me what the work is, where it appears on the site, and how to reach you. I’ll review the request promptly and remove material that infringes.

9. Links to other sites

I link to other websites for convenience. I don’t control them and am not responsible for their content or practices.

10. No warranties

This site is provided “as is.” I work to keep it accurate and available, but I make no promises that it will be error-free, complete, current or always online.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or from content submitted by others.

12. Changes

I may update these terms. When I do, I’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Latah County, Idaho.
